This traditional fair, held every September 9, is one of the oldest in France! A large fair, an unmissable date, an institution in the Pays du Buëch! Since the beginning of the 13th century, on September 9, poultry has been purchased on the Lagrand plateau to be served for the Christmas festivities...
We stock up for the winter: honey, wine, olives, dried vegetables, lavender essence, fabrics, tools... Provençal scents, sunny perfumes of late summer vegetables, flavors of aromatic plants.
It's a typical atmosphere, people come to Lagrand from all the surrounding valleys, and early in the morning, business is done... then, we have time to stroll around the many stalls: meetings, exchanges and then enjoy the friendly meal and the pétanque competition that follows... often until late in the evening!
