Presentation

A 12th century roman building, expanded in the 17th and 18th centuries. A rich collection of 17th frescos to discover inside.

This chapel is a designated national heritage site from the 12th century, expanded in the 17th and 18th centuries, and is the old pastoral church of the area of La Baume, overlooked by the beautiful Rocher de La Baume, on the left bank of the Durance. This building can be seen from outside with its thin bell tower. Several notable elements inside : a semi-circular fresco from the 17th century, an atlar and a cathedra, with a row of choir stalls. Saint Marcel also houses a Way of the Cross art piece by Fréderique Maillart and a stained glass by Liliane Manière.
