Presentation
Museum of Gallo-Roman History and Archeology. Permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions.
The permanent exhibit offers a themed tour of funerary customs during antiquity. Metallic, glass and ceramic lapidary relics as well as coins are on display to explain the Gallo-Romans' cult of the dead to our visitors.
Among the exhibits, an exceptional collection from a mausoleum from late first or early second century, built by a rich Gallo-Roman family that lived in Sisteron during the apex of the Roman Empire.
Archeological furniture, found in a mausoleum in Bevons are also on display.
A beautiful 100 m² room completes this cultural location, which houses temporary exhibits dedicated to art all year round (paintings, sculptures, photos...). Finally, a shop and library are available.
