The Route du Temps invites you on a journey rich in history and traditions, combining breathtaking landscapes and cultural discoveries. Depart from Sisteron for a circuit of approximately 80 km where each stop tells a part of our heritage.

As soon as you leave Sisteron, let yourself be seduced by the Rocher de la Baume which highlights this unique route. The first stop is at the Pierre Écrite, a true testimony of the ancients, where the parade of its inscriptions offers a timeless spectacle. This symbolic passage immediately immerses you in the mystical atmosphere of the region.
The Crypt of Dromon: Journey to the Heart of History
Then continue to the Crypt of Dromon, a place full of history that reveals the secrets of past centuries. The hushed atmosphere and ancestral stones invite reflection, while the play of light accentuates the mysterious character of the site.
In Authon, a gourmet break is a must. Settle into the Monges gîte-restaurant to enjoy a friendly lunch in a warm setting before tackling the challenges of the road. From there, the route takes you to the Col de Fontbelle, where the road winds along the mountainside, offering stunning views and a gentle climb that prepares you for the arrival in the hilltop village of Thoard. Let yourself be immersed in the authentic atmosphere of this village, then begin the descent towards the Digne region.

Finally, don't miss out on discovering the Pénitents des Mées, a spectacular geological curiosity perched above the village, shaped by the erosion of cemented pebbles called puddingstones. Accessible by a developed path, this atypical site in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and the Durance Valley bears witness to the fascinating formation of the Alps.
The return to Sisteron is via the legendary Route Napoléon, thus concluding a weekend getaway combining heritage, nature and authentic emotions.
